Getting there

By Ferry

Fly into Athens International Airport, then take a taxi or Uber (~50 min) to Piraeus Port. From there, hop on a ferry to Spetses (Alpha Lines or Hellenic Seaways, Gate E8) — about 1.5 hours. You can book tickets via ferryhopper.com.

By Car & Sea Taxi:

Drive or arrange a transfer (~3 hours) from Athens International Airport to Kosta Port on the Peloponnese coast. From there, it’s a quick sea taxi ride to Spetses.

Option 1: Book a transfer with Heli Cars (~3 hours; they’ll pick you up from the airport; use code Mana & Lea).

Option 2: Rent a car, drive to Kosta Port and leave it on the mainland in a car park (parking costs approx. 5 EUR/day).

From Kosta Port:

From there, take a 5–10 minute sea taxi or the public ferry to Spetses:

  • Sea taxis run 24/7 - approx. 30 EUR, +30 22980- 72072

  • Public ferry (’Spetses Express’ or the local ferry boat); approx. 5 EUR - check the schedule here.

A little bit about Spetses…

Spetses is a small, car-free island, loved by Athenians for its proximity to Athens.

Size: Around 27 km² (roughly 7 km long and 4 km wide - small enough to bike around in under an hour).

Getting around: Walking, (e-)bikes, mopeds, tricycles, horse carriages, taxis and water taxis.

There are plenty of hotels and Airbnbs on the island - here are some of our favourites below.

Where to stay

How to get around Spetses

We want to make sure you know what to expect so you can prepare comfortably.

Spetses is mostly car-free, which is part of its charm - but it also means getting around takes a bit of planning. The main ways to move around the island are walking or renting a moped, (e-)bike, quad, tricycle, or golf cart.

If you’re not comfortable driving scooters or quads, reaching more remote beaches can be tricky. There are taxis and horse carriages, but availability is limited, so it’s best to keep that in mind when planning your stay.

Your hotel will also be able to assist you with booking taxis, and below are a few numbers.

For the wedding events

  • Friday (Ceremony + Dinner – Main Event):

We will provide shuttles to and from the venue for all guests.

  • Thursday & Saturday (Welcome Drinks + Dinner):

Guests will need to make their own way to the venues. If you don’t feel comfortable driving a scooter or bike, we recommend staying near the Old Harbour. If you’re staying farther away, a rented scooter/e-bike or pre-booked taxi is the easiest solution.

A note on kids

Just a heads-up that Spetses has limited mobility options with no cars and not that many taxis - so getting around with babies can require a bit of extra planning. That said, it’s absolutely doable, and Spetses is generally a kid-friendly destination.

Most of our wedding events will take place in the evenings, which may also be helpful to keep in mind for the little ones’ routines. If you’re looking for a babysitter, get in touch with Argiro at (+30) 694 895 7398.

If you’re thinking of bringing your kids, drop us a message - we’ll help you figure out what’s easiest.
